One of the most used ways of developing a web page is by using PHP web development. PHP refers to the program being a Hypertext Preprocessor. This program is really a HTML embedded scripting language and it is compatible with just about any type of data base. For those that frequently create a generated web page, this is one of the most important and useful tools.

Although it has a similar syntax to Perl, the text is embedded with special PHP tags, so the developer can actually go back and forth between using PHP and HTML. This is convenient because it can decrease the amount of HTML codes that need to be written. Another reason that people use PHP with regularity is the fact that it can communicate across a number of networks using different protocols such as IMAP, HTTP and even POP3.

The original developer of the language was Rasmus Lerdorf and he created it in the mid’90’s. However, it has undergone many different re-incarnations and version updates since’98. These upgrades have become a popular reason why the use of PHP web development has become one of the favorites used by web page designers.

From its rudimentary beginnings it has evolved into a tool that is can be used for a number of different purposes. Examples of where it is commonly used include standalone graphics and command line interface applications. PHP Web Development is able to be used on almost all servers and operating systems. The software is free and currently has 5 versions, each of which has built upon the one before it.

The latest version has been engineered to decrease security issues and other problems that were associated with earlier PHP models. When version 6. 0 is available it will have the added bonus of being able to support Unicode, which the current version can not do at this time.

PHP web development is one of the many languages used by developers. Some are better used for dynamic applications, static applications or for web based usage. For more information, do a little research on the internet and download a copy.

Do you need some flash banners for your website? If yes, then you need a nice designer to do the job for you. You need to know how to look for the best flash banner designer and things to consider before hiring one.

Take a look at the designer’s portfolio. You should check out the designs he has done previously for clients. You can thus get an idea about the quality offered. You can also get ideas about your banners.

Most probably, you need banners in various sizes. You can inquire about the sizes offered by the designers. You should also stay in touch with him or her via instant messenger and provide instructions.

When you need banners in various sizes, you should check out whether the designer can offer you a package. This will save you lots of money. You should fine out a person that can do the designs at affordable rates.

Customer testimonials at the designer’s site will tell you about what the other clients think about the designs. You should not choose the person based on the testimonials. There are chances that they must be faked.

A flash banner presents a nice impression about your business. It creates a brand out of your product. It is something that visitors love to click on. It should be designed keeping in mind things like font, color and size.

Your banner design must be compatible to the nature of your business. You should not put too many images in it. Try to have a perfect balance of text and images.

Banners have been used for years to promote businesses. These are still widely used and believed to be very important for success of an online business. So you must choose the flash designer wisely.

Here is an awesome Flash Banner Designservice. Take a look at the flash banner portfolio.

Basic tutorials can be found on the web for free for Dreamweaver training. These tutorials are free until you reach the more in depth area such as site control. When reaching the more advanced sections, a subscription to the website and a fee maybe required. Closed captioning is offered for the videos. Exercise files maybe available for download.

In general, the tutorials are broken up in the following manner.

Getting started is where you will find information on coding and scripting for Dreamweaver. The videos provide much more detail about the varieties of coding and scripts that are available, why they are important and what their function is.

User interface for Dreamweaver is the next lesson. How to setup your workspace is the first choice offered. The majority of programs have a welcome screen that appears when it is first loaded. For the differences in the interface between Windows and Mac, this is the section to look in. This topic also discusses the purpose for the property inspector, insert bar, document window and toolbar, panel groups and panels, how to save the layouts and creating a default browser.

Within the section of Site control file and folder management is discussed. Understanding the path structure, developing a sitemap and how to add to your site is the goal.

Being able to create or save new documents is necessary in order to develop a new blank site. Learning about adding text and images is necessary as well as understanding doctype, how to align text in the document and creating meta tags.

If you do not already know how to create links, check out the section that provides this information. You can learn how to create these links with point to file, email links, external links, named anchors and how to link to files and image maps.

CSS essentials provide the user with an introduction to CSS. A lesson on the anatomy of the CSS style sheet, page properties, style panels, moving internal sheets to external file sheets and what is a selector and its function are in the introduction.

Formatting the text within a sheet is discussed in typography.

Creating and formatting tables to your page is taught.

Then are the instructions for Layout. This section talks about layout tools, tracing images, how to add AP div tags and working with layout tables.

Designing pages to work with devices such as printers is important.

Starting from the essentials to the creation of the website is what the tutorial provides. The sections listed in depth here are only a few of them that are available. Other sections go on to discuss 10 other topics. Plan on spending quiet a bit of time and money to receive in depth training for Dreamweaver.

Whenever you build a new website, you can almost guarantee that you will make mistakes and that there will be errors within the site that need to be fixed before it goes live. Adobe Dreamweaver has a number of tools for helping you to locate such errors and correct them. The program allows you to perform browser compatibility checks, locate broken links, orphaned files and locate syntax errors within your code.

Site testing should be an integral part of building a web site and not an isolated step which is performed after the site has been built. Every page that forms part of the site should function correctly in all its aspects in all of the browsers which the site is designed for. Using Adobe Dreamweaver’s various reports is a great way of ensuring that your site is error-free.

One of the first things you should do is to preview your pages in as many browsers as possible. Dreamweaver’s Preview in Browser feature allows you to set up primary and secondary browsers and then add as many other browsers as you like. Each time you choose File – Preview In Browser, you can choose any of the browsers you have configured. You should also try to preview your web pages both on PCs and Macs. This multi-browser testing is particular important for testing that CSS and JavaScript is functioning correctly. What works well in one browser does not always work in another.

At the web page level, you should also check both the text and the markup of each page. A simple omission made by many web developers is to check spelling. Naturally, this can be done in a word-processor such as Microsoft Word, prior to bringing the text into Dreamweaver. However, even in this scenario, it is quite typical to make further changes to your text within Dreamweaver. It is always a good idea, therefore, to run the spell-checker on every page. In Design mode, simply choose Check Spelling from The Command menu.

Another type of error which you should try to eliminate is broken links. These are, if nothing else, a potential cause of annoyance to your website visitor. Dreamweaver’s Link Checker will look for any links to pages that do not exist as well as locating orphaned pages; i.e., pages that do not have any links pointing to them and which will therefore not be found by your website visitors. To access Dreamweaver’s Link Checker, choose Check Links Sitewide from the Site menu.

Various technologies like JavaScript, CSS and several frameworks and serverside scripting languages like ASP, ColdFusion and PHP have been given support by the new versions of the application. Both Windows Operating Systems and Mac supports Dreamweaver.

Features: Though Dreamweaver is a hybrid WYSIWYG and an application of code based web development and design, its WYSIWYG mode is able to hide from the users, the pages’ HTML code details which make the creation of sites and web pages possible even for non-coders. The creation of table based layouts is very easy with this application. In the recent versions, the application has focused on supporting the standard based layout with the ability of converting tables to layers.

The locally installed websites in the web browsers can be previewed by the users using Dreamweaver. Site management tools like FTP, SFTP and WebDAV features of synchronization and file transfers, templating features which help in the source update of shared code and layout of the whole sites without the server side includes and scripting, are present in this application. It also has the ability to use regular expressions and search items to find and replace code or text lines across the full site.

The third party ‘extensions’ can be used by Dreamweaver for enabling and extending the application’s main functionality. Many extension developers, who make available the free and commercial extensions, support Dreamweaver for many web development tasks ranging from fully featured shopping carts to simple effects of rollover. Also the files can be edited locally by Dreamweaver, and using WebDAV, SFTP and FTP, upload them into the remote web server similar to the other HTML editions.

Drawbacks of Dreamweaver: Dreamweaver has the potential of producing HTML pages with file size and HTML code amount bigger than a page which is optimally hand coded. This is a drawback, as it causes the poor performance of the web browsers. Earlier, many website developers have criticized Dreamweaver for producing codes which do not comply many times with the standards of W3C. There has also been a poor performance by the Dreamweaver 8.0 on the Acid 2 Test that had been developed by Web Standards Project.

Syntax Highlighting: Syntax Highlighting is supported by the latest versions of Dreamweaver for the languages like ActionScript, ASP.Net, Active Server Pages, C#, ColdFusion, Cascading Style Sheets, EDML, Extensible Markup Language, HyperText Markup Language, Extensible Stylesheet Language Transformations, Java, JavaServer Pages, JavaScript, PHP, Visual Basic, VB Script and Wireless Markup Language. For many of the above mentioned languages, code completion is available and you can also add to its repertoire, your own language syntax highlighting.

Language Availability: Various languages in which the Adobe Dreamweaver is available are English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Russian, Korean, Japanese, Swedish, Polish, Turkish, Portuguese, Chinese Simplified, Chinese Traditional and Brazilian.

It is kind of inevitable that Adobe Dreamweaver is so popular and so widely used. It offers the general user a way into the world of web development without first having to learn too much about the technologies which are used in building modern websites. Among the powerful features which Dreamweaver makes available to inexperienced users are preset CSS layouts, accessibility guidance, HTML guidance, CSS guidance and standards compliance. Let’s look at how these features are implemented and how Dreamweaver can make you look good as a web developer before you know enough to look good on your own.

Whenever you create a new web page in Dreamweaver, you are given the option of basing the new page on one of the preset CSS layouts built into the program. Using CSS for page layout requires a fair amount of experience of the quirks of CSS and is no job for a beginner. Simply by choosing the layout which is closest to their requirements, users can go ahead and create CSS web pages which will work and which can be customized to suit their requirements.

Dreamweaver automatically displays useful alerts to remind the user to incorporate accessibility features into the elements being placed on the page. Thus, for example, each time an image is added to the page, a dialogue box will appear which contains a box for the user to enter the alternate text. Similarly when adding a form element, the form accessibility dialog prompts you to enter both and ID and the label text.

Most new users of Dreamweaver will also be fairly new to web development and may still be a little shaky on HTML and will typically build web pages visually using Dreamweaver’s Design mode. Whenever I run a Dreamweaver training course, I always make new users aware of Dreamweaver’s tag selector feature. This consists of a hierarchical display of the element which is currently selected on the page, the element which contains that element? and so on, all the way up to the BODY element which of course contains all elements on the page. Clicking on one of the tags displayed on the tag selector cleanly selects the corresponding element. Also, right-clicking displays a useful set of options such as “Remove Tag” and “Set Class”.

The Properties panel is the most used of the Dreamweaver panels and it too offers new users a lot of assistance. Unlike previous versions of Dreamweaver, version CS4 makes a clear distinction between structural attributes (which are displayed in the HTML tab of the Properties panel) and CSS attributes (which are displayed in the CSS tab). For example, if you select an element which is already controlled by a CSS rule, the Properties panel will allow you to edit the rule. If there is no rule, it will prompt you to create one.

Surely, when it comes to electronic document conversion, only a creative individual without self esteem would turn to anyone less than the best in the field for help. This can be especially true when converting design PSD to HTML. Why would anyone work so hard to market a second-rate product?

Every creation that develops from somebody?s mind ultimately belongs to them since they created it. In addition, their skill level often determines the length of time it takes to work on something. With respects to PSD to HTML conversion, finding the right service that knows what they are doing can make all the difference in the time it takes to get the job done right.

Search the internet using the words ‘PSD to HTML’ and you will find the best services at the top. And there is a reason they are placed there. The right services for design conversions will take care of your every design need to assure that you are satisfied.

Whichever service is chosen, the client should not shy about asking for a satisfaction guarantee, which should include the return of the client’s money if necessary. When evaluating a PSD to HTML service, keep in mind that one is not always comparing apples to apples, so inquire accordingly.

If you are a client residing in the U.S. you should not only consider using a quality PSD to HTML service also located in the United States, but make sure that they comply with international standards as well. Look for services with an ISO 9001:2000 certificate of quality. Of course, this may not be the end all be all, but it is something important to take into consideration.

Any consideration of a company and their services must include clear communication. If a service does not know how to communicate with the client and clearly define expectations, then you are in for a rough ride. When you are searching for the right service, see if they will listen to your feedback respectfully or not. This can be a key signal whether things will work out or not.

Over the years, a good PSD to HTML conversion firm will have developed its own proprietary processes to ensure that the customer gets what they expect. Make sure that the markup you receive back looks exactly the same as what you sent, and if not, question it.

Part of finding the right PSD to HTML service includes viewing work they have done for other clients. Be sure to ask for and evaluate any previous client work they might have done. This is definitely an important part of the consideration process and will help you find the service that matches your needs.
